Weir Farm National Historic Site in Wilton, Connecticut, the only National Park dedicated to American painting, was established in 1990 to preserve a significant site of American Impressionism and maintain a setting of artistic expression while offering opportunities for inspiration and education.
The location was home to three generations of American artists. Julian Alden Weir, a leading figure in American art and the development of American Impressionism, acquired the farm in 1882. After Weir, the artistic legacy was continued by his daughter, painter Dorothy Weir Young and her husband, sculptor Mahonri Young, followed by New England painters Sperry and Doris Andrews.
There are currently sixteen historic buildings and 60-acres of beautiful cultural landscape that tell the 130 year story of artists living and being inspired by the landscape at Weir Farm.
Thank you for perusing my images! Please be aware that I have a significant archive of photos that are not here on FineArt America... but on Flickr, at www.flickr.com/jonathansabin. If there are any images on Flickr that interest you, please don't hesitate to send me a message and I will be more than happy to upload the file here to FAA in order to make it available for purchase. Thanks again! Jonathan
